§ 16-75. Duties generally.

The duties of the public defender shall be to serve as counsel, when directed by the judge of the municipal court, to represent indigent persons charged with violations of this Code or other ordinances of the city which may be punished by imprisonment, and when such persons demonstrate to the satisfaction of the judge that they are indigent and unable to employ counsel and desire to have counsel appointed to represent them.
