§ 7-22. Powers and duties.

The building commissioner shall:
(1)

Issue building permits for all construction within the city limits.

(2)

Enforce the building code, zoning ordinance and housing code of the city and any regulations promulgated thereunder.

(3)

Enforce the ordinances of the city pertaining to the erection, construction, use and location of buildings and structures of all types.

(4)

Perform all inspections for the enforcement of the building code, housing code, zoning ordinance or other ordinances of the city relating to the erection, construction, maintenance or use of buildings, structures and premises.

(5)

Perform such other duties as directed by the mayor or board of aldermen.
