§ 14-292. Application for license.

  • The owner or lessee of real property shall apply to the city for a license to hold an auction at least 48 hours before the auction or sale of merchandise is held. The application for license shall contain the following information:

    (1)

    Name and residential address of property owner.

    (2)

    Address of location where auction or sale of merchandise is to be held.

    (3)

    The date and hours of the auction or sale of merchandise.

    (4)

    The number of auctions or sales of merchandise that occurred at this location during the previous 12 months.

    (5)

    Estimate of number of persons expected to attend.

    (6)

    The number of onsite parking places available at the property.

    (7)

    The signature of the property owner or lessee requesting the license.

    Upon payment of a fee of $50.00 to the city, the clerk shall issue a license to the property owner, provided that no auction or sale of merchandise had been made at this property location during the previous 30 days nor if there have been two or more auctions or sale of merchandise at this location during the previous 12 months, and in either situation the license shall not be issued.
